Acadian Doors & Custom Millwork, LLC. is a family owned business started in 1993 by me, Aaron Ducre. For over 50 years, I have honed my craft by designing and creating custom doors and millwork. My love of woodwork took root in woodworking classes from elementary school through high school. Working with my hands is a passion. I take pride in attention to detail and I am hands-on for every job to ensure perfection and customer satisfaction. At Acadian Doors, we take the time to customize a quality product from start to finish using solid wood (not engineered wood). We really didn't know how to shop for a new door. We looked at some ugly ready-made stuff. Our old door, all leaded glass squares, was too fragile, but we really liked the look. Aaron listened carefully, noting what we wanted. And he did it! His design was perfect. He preserved a good bit of the old glass and placed it into a solid, secure mahogany door. It was unfortunate circumstances that brought us the good fortune of connecting with Aaron Ducre of Arcadian Doors and Millwork. Shortly after the holidays our house was broken into. Burglars smashed through our old craftsman style door, which was 90% glass, to gain entry. Reeling from the loss involved in the burglary, were not in the market for a custom replacement door and we called Acadian doors to find us a "stock door" which was mostly wood and maintained the craftsman design of our home. Aaron ordered a door to our specifications but when it arrived, the quality was not up to Aaron's standards. Understanding what we had been through, and knowing that a piece of plywood had been substituting as our front door, Aaron took the initiative to quickly build us a quality front door. The Spanish cedar door that Aaron built us is beautiful and has become the focal point of our home.
